About me

Matt Carlson is a London based filmmaker & creative professional from Minneapolis, USA and a recent graduate of MA Filmmaking at London Film School where he trained in Directing, Cinematography, Camera Operating, Producing and Editing. After receiving his BA in Communication and Film from Loyola University Chicago in 2015, Matt worked as an editor, director, producer and videographer for various companies in the US as well as his own artistic practice where he advanced in his passion and experience. In 2022, Matt moved to London to pursue his filmmaking passion at LFS. Matt is fascinated by documentary, experimental, comedic and surreal films/art and looks forward to creating art and collaborating with others for years to come.

Matt is eager to continue editing films of various forms, with a particular interest in telling human stories that connect us and make us feel less alone. Filmmaking is a powerful art form, with the ability to blend image and sound in ways that move us like few other mediums.

Matt loves going to see live music, traveling the world, jogging around London, watching NFL, exploring art museums and spending time with his friends and family.
